The Whole Sacred Chapel (渾の聖廟 Kon no Seibyō) is an Unrestricted Spell original to the anime series. It was used to create the Fountain of Existence, and to do so, it required three things; Hecate, the Treasure Tool Reiji Maigo, and the device created by Professor Dantalion.
Plot[]
"Mobilizer of Ceremonial Equipment" Arc[]
When Dantalion tested the Whole Sacred Chapel at the Misago Festival, he inserted Unrestricted Spell Insignias necessary for it within the Illusive Birds and had them deploy the insignias over the festival. The insignias are able to obstruct Khamsin Nbh'w's Tuning.[1][2] Though it is similar in appearance to a Fūzetsu, it does not share its effects of isolating the space within from the space outside and freezing the space inside. Though the insignias themselves cannot be seen by normal humans, the Illusive Birds, which are visible, were made to activate after the Whole Scared Chapel had been cast to make the crowd panic.[3] It is able to deflect Unrestricted Spells.[4]
The main effect of Whole Sacred Chapel was to use the Distortion in Misaki City to open a hole in space at its center, which Khamsin likened to forcibly removing a piece from a jigsaw puzzle.[1] The Unrestricted Spell is complete when Dantalion's airship is flown into the hole in space.[5] The insignias led to an area away from this hole in space, near the river where Domino's Yagura Robot was.[1]
Bal Masqué Arc[]
The Whole Sacred Chapel needed Hecate due to her large Vessel. It worked by having the Vessels of Hecate and the Reiji Maigo's Mystes assimilate, after which the Reiji Maigo would be induced to fill Hecate's Vessel. The Power of Existence supplied to her would then be drawn outside by Dantalion's device. It was thought that since the Reiji Maigo would keep supplying Power of Existence until the Vessel is filled, the Whole Sacred Chapel would be able to semi-permanently draw out power. It was implied that the overflowing power would fill Misaki City and then continue being drawn out at an accelerated pace.
Of the power brought forth by this Unrestricted Spell, the power covering Misaki City was consumed by the Manifestation of Alastor through Tenpa Jōsai, and the Power of Existence sealed under the city by Tartaros was used in the powering of the Statue of Pride.
Trivia[]
- It is thought that the Whole Sacred Chapel would not be viable in the novel series due to differences in lore concerning the Reiji Maigo and Vessels. The Reiji Maigo only restores the maximum amount of Power of Existence the Mystes had during that day, and Vessels do not refer to Crimson Denizens' Power of Existence capacity.
