Valac (ウァラク Varaku?) is the Crimson Lord who was bound to Yurī Chvojka and her first contracter, who was referred to as the Princess who Loves Insects (虫愛づる姫君, Mushi-Mezuru Himegimi).

Appearance

Valac expresses her will through the knife-like divine vessel called Hoverla.

Personality

She speaks rather wearily but yet she looks after her partner Yurī with kindness.

Background

She had many partners before Yurī. Many of them were powerful but suicidal avengers and none of them stayed alive for long. In the novel, it is revealed that she and her first contractor, who was referred as The Princess who Loves Insects (虫愛づる姫君, Mushi-Mezuru Himegimi), was one of the oldest Flame Haze who took down the God of Creation, Snake of the Festival, thousands of years ago. She is referred by Khamsin as The Tornado of Existence (生命の竜巻, Seimei no Tatsumaki).

Plot

Milestone Arc

Note: This arc contains a flashback that depicts events occurring before the events of the main series.

Valac and Yurī appear before Margery in New York after she was defeated by Sydonay. The next day Yurī introduces himself and Valac to Margery. He reveals that he has only been contracted to Valac for one year. In the afternoon, Yurī explains to Margery why he made a contract with Valac. Valac agrees with Margery that Yurī should go home because he doesn't qualify to be a Flame Haze.[1]

That night, Valac watches the Fūzetsu with Yurī. She asks him why he told Margery that he couldn't save anyone before. She reveals that Yurī knew he would be rejected by Margery. Valac then gives Yurī permission to enter the fight and help Margery. Yurī and Valac then use their powers, gathering moths and creating a tornado. They enter the Fuzetsu, drilling Sydonay, who is in a Chimera form, in half. Yurī drills Annaberg's arm off. Annaberg later returns and attacks him, but Yurī and Valac are able to drill him again, killing him. Despite Valac's warnings, Yurī goes to help Margery. He rushes Sydonay, but he slashes him from behind. Sydonay then fires Power of Existence at them. Margery does the same. As Yurī dies, he says sorry to Valac, who says he did nothing wrong.[2]

After the Second Great War

After a century has passed, she leaves Crimson Realm to Xanadu to help the reorganization of the Outlaws together with other former contracted Crimson Lords such as Behemoth, Halphas, Zirnitra and Sentia; they are now called as the Orderists (秩序派 Chitsujō-ha?).
