Transmission of Perception (知覚の伝染 Chikaku no Densen) was the unique ability of "Glazed Eyes" Vine, a Jaeger of Bal Masqué, which allowed him to search for enemies.
Background[]
Transmission of Perception transmitted Vine's acute perception to other people. The infected person became part of Vine's sensory faculties. By using the infected person as an intermediary, Vine was able to perceive what the infected person saw or heard and he could also sense the Presence of Flame Haze and Crimson Denizens near them.[1]
This power transmitted from person to person like an epidemic but did not directly harm the infected person. Therefore, unless the enemy was very perceptive themselves, they would not realize Vine was searching for them. With this power, it was possible for Vine to search extremely large distances.[1]
However, Transmission of Perception had a few weaknesses. It could only infect creatures with a certain level of consciousness only met by mammals, so it could only be used effectively where there were many mammals, such as an urban area where many humans and Torches lived. The information Vine received also became more blurry the further the epidemic spread.[1][2]
Vine used this Unrestricted Spell to narrow down to a certain extent the location of Tendōkyū when he was searching for it.
