Syrus Lellis (シュルス・レルリス Shurusu Rerurisu) is a character created by Kazuma Kamachi for his short story, Prison of Destruction. Lellis was a Flame Haze with the title "Reciter of the End" (末路の語り手 Matsuro no Katarite)[1] and was contracted to "Written Blessing" Penemue.
Appearance[]
Lellis was a fully grown man by the time he became a Flame Haze.
Personality[]
Lellis was simple and didn't need words. If he recognized someone as an enemy he would attack, and if they weren't, he would stop.[1] He was a typical Flame Haze whose sense of purpose was revenge against "Destructive Blade" Sabrac. Lellis was more scared of losing his purpose than he was of dying.[2]
Background[]
Lellis had somehow encountered Sabrac in the past and resented him.
Lellis had not participated in the Great War of the Middle Ages, but had the achievement of helping suppress the chaos after it. It was possible that Lellis became a Flame Haze with the Prison of Destruction just after the Great War in the attempt to solve the shortage of Flame Haze with that Treasure Tool, and therefore was later targeted by Notburga. However, uncharacteristically for an Instant Flame Haze, Lellis was powerful and had a sense of destruction.
Lellis used Outlaw for information, having learned from them Trigger Happy's effect and its destruction in Misaki City.[3]

Prison of Destruction[]
Lellis had been in Ōto City when he was attacked by Notburga. Afraid of his Power of Existence exploding and thus unable to use Unrestricted Spells, he was killed by Notburga's Divine Vessel "Release of Leonardus".
Relationships[]
Penemue[]
Lellis and Penemue did not converse once during Notburga's attack, possibly due to Penemue feeling the effects of Prison of Destruction and resenting Lellis.
Powers and Abilities[]
Lellis was a powerful Unrestricted Spell Master.[1] He had used an Unrestricted Spell Insignia to kill dozens of Crimson Denizens.[2]

- The name Lellis was likely derived from the Saint Camillus de Lellis. The name Syrus was likely derived from either of two Saints, Syrus of Genoa or Syrus of Pavia.
