Shakugan no Shana X Extra Edition (灼眼のシャナⅩ　番外編, Shakugan no Shana X Bangai-hen) is a 2-page short story written by Yashichirō Takahashi and published in the Dengeki Bunko General Catalog 2006 SPECIAL EDITION book.

It expands upon Alastor's recollection of Mathilde Saint-Omer singing Watashi wa Hoka no Dare mo Aisanai to him for the first time, from Volume X.

Summary

While heading for a certain war, the crimson female knight killed a demon on a battlefield as she recited a song for the Demon God who took the form of a ring on her left hand.

She had asked for his opinion, but he didn't answer, knowing that the song the woman had rewritten was a love song. The woman confessed that the song had embarrassing lyrics but was magical because it allowed her to easily express her true feelings, which she had usually hidden. The man laughed softly.

While the woman talked, the group of demons surrounding the hill approached, but the woman summoned a unit of spear soldiers, changed her sword into a halberd, and raced down the hill towards them on her flame horse. The demons readied their claws, fangs, blades and flames, but this only caused the woman to smile intensely.

• Shakugan no Shana X Extra Edition revealed the last line of Watashi wa Hoka no Dare mo Aisanai, which was not completed by Mathilde in Volume X. The last line in Extra Edition, "Being beside his love, for only that, am I starved" (彼の愛の傍にいて　それほど私は飢えている), was altered when sung by Shana in Volume XXII.
