Summary[]
Wilhelmina and Shana had just finished shopping for food at a crowded market in a shopping mall in front of Misaki City Station, with Wilhelmina buying various retort pouch foods, cup noodles and the like. She was grateful Shana had accompanied her, as purchasable items were limited to one basket per customer and they were able to use two. Shana was annoyed as she had only gone because it sounded like Wilhelmina needed help against a troublesome opponent. Wilhelmina stated that that was the case, as that day was the market's special sale day and products would be 30% cheaper than they were in other stores, leading to shoppers gathering from all over Misaki City. Both Tiamat and Alastor agreed with her. The meat section had been particularly congested, with all the women there having made Alastor fear for his safety, and Shana admitted she thought the Cocytus would break. Wilhelmina lectured on the importance of food to human society and how failure to buy meat could lead to the decline of the husband's health and obstruct his success in life, causing his resentment, which would lead to their children becoming delinquents and the subsequent collapse of the household. Alastor and Shana believed Wilhelmina's lecture. Shana commented that they had only bought instant and canned foods despite the fact Chigusa was teaching Wilhelmina how to cook, but Wilhelmina considered cooking a forbidden technique reserved for special occasions. Wilhelmina wanted to return home and continue sorting out Outlaw documents, while Shana wanted to buy melonpan on the way back.
Shana noticed a little boy looking around searching for someone. Wilhelmina thought the boy had been separated from his guardian in the congestion and wanted to take him to the mall's management office. She approached the boy, but he was scared of her and hid, which offended Wilhelmina as she had raised hundreds of infants. Shana introduced herself to the boy and got him to talk to her. The boy had been shopping with his mother but had lost sight of her. Though Shana told the boy he most likely hadn't been left behind, he started crying, fearing he would never return home. Wilhelmina again suggested taking the boy to the management office, as his mother might have reported that her child was missing. Shana wanted to search for the boy's mother with him and promised to take him to her, ignoring Wilhelmina's advice that it was more efficient to take the boy to the office than to look through the congestion for the mother. Wilhelmina continued arguing that not finding the mother promptly would only cause more problems for the mother and boy, but Shana was adamant and even refused Wilhelmina's help. Shana wanted to help the boy because she knew how it felt to be alone in an unfamiliar place. Shana and the boy went to look for the boy's mother while Wilhelmina went to tell the management office about the boy.
Shana didn't know how to start looking for the mother. The boy had cheered up due to Shana's promise and thanked her. He held hands with Shana and she noted how cold his hand was. Shana briefly talked with Alastor and was almost overheard by the boy. She asked the boy his name and became flustered when she heard it was Yūji Kasai. Yūji pulled Shana along as they looked for his mother.
Wilhelmina had been watching the two and believed that with a name like that, it was only natural that Yūji had been instinctively scared of her. Since the boy's mother hadn't been to the management office, Wilhelmina decided to watch over the boy and Shana. Wilhelmina was approached by Yūji Sakai, Yoshida, Satō and Tanaka, who had been out shopping together. Satō and Tanaka were being loud and Wilhelmina got them all to hide.
Shana heard voices resembling Satō's and Tanaka's but dismissed them. She wanted to start looking for the mother in the basement foodstuffs floor.
The group watched Shana and the boy. Before Wilhelmina could explain, Tanaka and Satō assumed the boy was Yūji and Shana's illegitimate child. Yūji had to deny that it was his or Shana's child, leading everyone to look at Wilhelmina. Wilhelmina explained the situation to the group, with Tanaka finally clearing Yūji of suspicion. Satō also doubted whether the mother could be found in the congestion and Wilhelmina stated that both dealing with children and finding someone weren't easy. The group then heard Shana yelling at someone. She was at a bakery, arguing that melonpan should not have melon fruit juice inside them, and the boy Yūji was trying to persuade her not to cause trouble. Satō, Wilhelmina and Tiamat found the scene pathetic. The group continued following Shana and the boy, with Yūji not wanting to believe the mother was too concerned with shopping to notice her child was gone.
Shana and Yūji had gone to women's clothing shops, eateries, and toy shops, but there was no sign of Yūji's mother. Yūji became disheartened and again wondered whether he had been left behind, crying despite Shana trying to assure him that his mother was looking for him as well. Shana distracted Yūji with an electronic device. Yūji had used the device before; it was called the Love Love Compatibility Game and it could work out the compatibility between two people from just their names. The group continued watching and acknowledged the lengths Shana was going to. Yūji had previously used the device with a girl from his kindergarten named Kazumi and their names registered an 85% compatibility. Hearing this, Shana was adamant on using the device, but the machine informed them that the names Yūji and Shana registered only 3% compatibility. Shana couldn't accept the result but Yūji convinced her that it was just a game and their own compatibility was evidently much higher.
Tanaka guessed that the machine's results were referring to breast sizes, while Yoshida was ecstatic that she and Yūji were 85%. Wilhelmina and Tiamat accepted that taking care of children was beyond Shana.
It was now evening and the boy Yūji was again becoming disheartened, thinking his mother wasn't looking for him. They were near the bargain section of the mall, which was still busy. There was still no announcement from the management office. Wilhelmina found it unlikely that the mother would be searching for the boy without reporting first, and Satō was beginning to believe the boy had truly been left behind. Yūji Sakai theorized that if the mother was still in the mall, she would be in the bargain section. He had seen on a flyer that the last limited-time sale of the day, for cuts of salmon, had just ended. Tanaka agreed that limited-time sales were a housewife's reason for living. The market was also famous for being difficult to exit due to congestion, so the mother was likely searching only the bargain section for her child. The group headed to the section.
Shana promised the dispirited Yūji that she would stay with him until his mother was found. Yūji's mother called out to him from across the road and Yūji ran towards her but into the path of a moving truck. Wilhelmina and the others also arrived and saw the truck. Shana flew towards Yūji.
Shana had saved Yūji and he reunited with his distraught mother. Yūji's mother had been searching for him and she thanked Shana for looking after him. Shana berated the mother for losing Yūji, but he came to her defense.
As they walked home, Yūji's mother apologized to him and vowed to not lose him again. Yūji told his mother that Shana could have been an angel, as for an instant, he had seen large, red wings on her. His mother said she believed him. Yūji wanted to return home to eat the salmon his mother had bought.
Yūji Sakai was glad that Wilhelmina had cast a Fūzetsu so no one would see Shana's wings, though Wilhelmina and Tiamat praised her decision as it saved the boy's life. Alastor asked why Wilhelmina and the others had been at the scene. Shana suspected that they had been watching the whole time, but Yūji, Wilhelmina and Tiamat denied it. Shana didn't believe them and badgered Yūji for the truth, with Yūji complaining about her treatment of him compared to the other Yūji. Yūji said he had been there to buy the salmon on sale, but Shana didn't believe him.
