Crimson Oath II (紅蓮の宣誓 II Guren no Sensei II ) is the 59th chapter of the Shakugan no Shana manga series.
Shana criticized the siblings' relationship and wondered what it truly meant to be together. Behind the scenes, Tiriel's Pinions were being destroyed.
Summary[]
Despite being trapped, Shana still had a defiant expression and told Tiriel that she and Sorath were "doing it wrong". Tiriel knew what Shana meant and stated that she gave Sorath happiness, which in turn satisfied her, and that that was their love. She again kissed Sorath and Shana watched, wondering if she and Yūji would be like them when they eventually leave Misaki City together. Shana didn't think being together meant what the siblings were doing and recalled Yūji saying he would do his best at the river and on the school roof. In her head, she asked Yūji if he was being together with her. Shana stated that the siblings were just clinging to each other, enraging Tiriel. Tiriel pointed the Nietono no Shana at Shana's chest and criticized her for being a tool-like Flame Haze and having contracted at a young age, saying she had no right to question their love. Tiriel stated that granting Sorath's wishes and protecting him meant everything to her. Shana was at her limit waiting and was about to try and break the spell restraining her when both she and Tiriel sensed a presence.
Tiriel used a man with her Unrestricted Spell Insignia inside to talk to Sydonay, who was inside a car frozen on Misaki Bridge. The presence was Margery and Tiriel demanded that Sydonay go and kill her. Sydonay pointed out that it was Tiriel who had told him to leave Margery and protect the Orgel. Tiriel stated that the situation had changed because Margery was going around targeting and destroying the Pinions, to her disbelief. Sydonay didn't care that Cradle Garden might dissolve and suggested leaving, as they had acquired the Nietono no Shana. Tiriel didn't want to leave Margery, as she knew about Cradle Garden and the Pinions, and wanted her dead for insulting her and Sorath. She didn't need Sydonay to protect Orgel, as they would finish off Shana and Margery respectively. Sydonay thought Margery was planning something, but agreed to face her. He transformed into a panther and crawled out of the car, excited about the coming fight.

Shana breaking free from her restraints.
Shana laughed and said that her waiting had been "half"-worth it, as she had been hurt and had an unpleasant time with the siblings but had bought time. As Sorath prepared to kill Shana, Tiriel mocked her for being a Tool of Destruction and dying alone, but Shana stated that she wasn't alone. Tiriel pointed out that Alastor couldn't embrace with her, but Shana continued, saying she wasn't a tool either, and that she and Alastor didn't cling to each other; they felt each other and gained power. Shana was a Flame Haze, one who had made an oath to, and was determined to fulfill her mission to protect the balance of the world. From the ground, Alastor roared in laughter from her proclamation and Shana made her flames surge, breaking the spell around her.
Sorath tried to make flames come out of the Nietono no Shana to no avail and Shana swung down at the siblings with a blade made of flames. Sorath blocked Shana's attack, but within the flames she had swung Blutsauger. Shana poured Power of Existence into the sword, lacerating Sorath. She cut off Sorath's hand and took back the Nietono no Shana before throwing Blutsauger at Tiriel, impaling her. With one slash, Shana bisected both siblings before flying up. She knew Margery was destroying the hidden Rinne and the powerful Denizen in the city had started moving, and felt that Yūji was somehow involved. Shana knew that Yūji was with her, and felt that this was what it meant to be together.

Quotes[]
- Tiriel (to Shana): "I gave this to him, you know? I gave this joy to my Onii-sama. And Onii-sama's joy satisfies my heart. We feel it and make sure of it. We both rejoice in our love. The likes of a tool of a Lord who only thinks about destruction has no right to criticize us."
- Shana (thinking): "When Yūji and I leave together one day, will we do this...? No. Being together, doesn't mean something like this. Yūji, are you together with me now?"
- Tiriel (to Shana): "I will grant Onii-sama's wishes. I will protect Onii-sama. That is everything to me."
- Tiriel (to Sydonay): "That slave of the Claw and Fangs insulted Onii-sama and I! You have to kill her!"
- Shana: "I'm not alone. And I'm not a tool. We exist together without clinging to each other, only feeling each other strongly and gaining strength. I'm a Flame Haze. One who has made an oath to, and is determined to fulfill their mission of protecting the world's balance."
- Shana: "The flame sword, huh? Are you talking about, this!?"
- Shana (thinking): "Yūji, Yūji's here. Yes, this is what it means to be together!"
