Day of the Clash II (激突の日 II Gekitotsu no Hi II ) is the 48th chapter of the Shakugan no Shana manga series.
Yoshida witnessed Yūji walking with Shana before school, which upset her and angered Ike.
Summary[]

Yoshida crying.
Early in the morning, Yoshida was walking to Yūji's house to return his umbrella when she saw Yūji and Shana walking together on the other side of the road. She hid before crouching down and crying.
Ike entered the classroom before school started and noticed an umbrella in the class umbrella stand. He was shocked when he saw Yoshida sitting in the classroom, alone.
Margery was out window shopping with Satō and Tanaka. She had no aim and had been stopping and looking at things that caught her eye for long periods of time. The boys complained, but became enthusiastic when Margery threatened to not let them eat.

Sorath devouring the people around the woman.
In the city, Tiriel again inserted an Unrestricted Spell Insignia inside a person, this time a woman, and Sorath devoured the people around that woman. Tiriel told Sorath that after their preparations today, they would go after the Nietono no Shana tomorrow. Sydonay tried to tell Tiriel that he felt something strange about the presence of the Flame Haze in the city, but Sorath caught sight of a department store. Sorath wanted a new toy, which forced the party to go to the store.

Ike angry at Yūji.
During lunch break, Ike told Yūji that they should eat somewhere else this time. Confused, Yūji and Shana followed him out of the classroom. Yūji noticed Yoshida was following as well. Ike led them to the roof, where Yūji remembered he and Shana had met with Lamies. The door had been broken down by Shana and not many people knew that it wasn't locked, so they would be alone. They sat down on the roof and Yoshida again gave Yūji a homemade bento. Ike began to talk to Yūji in a roundabout way about not having gone to Yūji's house since high school started, for reasons such as them going to the bigger and less occupied Satō residence, and Yūji's mother treating them like children. Yūji was getting uncomfortable as he knew nothing good ever happened when Ike talked that way. He noticed that Yoshida hadn't touched her food and was pale and trembling. Ike began talking about early that morning, leading Yūji to believe that Ike had seen him with Shana. Ike said that he had gone to return Yūji's umbrella, and had seen him, shocking both Yūji and Yoshida, while Shana was oblivious to the conversation. Yoshida didn't want Ike to continue but he did, implying that Yūji was being with Shana and also accepting Yoshida's kindness. Yūji knew that their training was not an acceptable excuse.
As Ike began to tell Yūji that his actions would just hurt Yoshida, Yoshida suddenly got up and screamed at him to stop, surprising the others. Crying, Yoshida told Ike that she hadn't asked him to say those things, and ran away. After they were all momentarily stunned, Yūji noticed Ike's expression and asked Shana to leave. Now alone, Yūji again looked at Ike, who looked like he was about to cry.
