Thousands of Paths II (千千の行路 II Chiji no Kōro II ) is the 46th chapter of the Shakugan no Shana manga series.
Yoshida told Ike about how she fell in love with Yūji. Alastor set his plan into motion.
Summary[]

Yoshida embarrassed by Ike's question.
After school, Yoshida was putting on her shoes and preparing to leave when Ike approached her, holding an umbrella. They walked home together, with Ike complaining about the student council's inability to improve the lock on the volleyball club's shower room. Yoshida felt that Ike wanted to ask her something, so he asked her why she liked Yūji, causing her to get embarrassed. Ike mentioned the Phys Ed. class where Yoshida had collapsed, and she answered that she had thought Yūji was cool when he tended to her during the class. However, she said that the incident had only given her the courage to talk to Yūji, and that she had started liking him on the first day of high school.
Before the entrance ceremony, Yoshida hadn't known which class to go to and was all alone until Yūji had guided her to their class, saying he had gotten lost before as well. Though it had only been a small incident, Yoshida stated that Yūji's kindness and being cool didn't actually matter and that she felt she loved him when they first met. Ike thought about how Yoshida's answer about love was the exact opposite of Yūji's, and wondered who was correct, or whether they both were. Ike handed Yoshida the umbrella he held, which was Yūji's. Yūji had brought it in case it rained, and forgot about it due to it being sunny that day. Ike suggested that Yoshida should go to Yūji's house tomorrow morning to return it and then walk to school with him. Ike also handed her a piece of paper with a map to Yūji's house, and Yoshida happily thanked him.

Yūji working for Alastor.
At night, Alastor was making Yūji break open and modify a new mobile phone with tools, all of which Alastor had made them buy. Alastor wasn't telling Yūji what this task was for, but barked many orders, and the work was seemingly to allow his Cocytus to be housed within the phone.

Shana feeling bad without Yūji with her.
On Yūji's roof, Shana was sitting in the rain by herself. She wondered what Yūji and Alastor were doing inside. Shana realized she was alone and felt bad. She thought about how she was happy when with Chigusa, had fun with classmates, and felt lonely without Alastor. She felt very bad when Yūji wasn't with her. Shana remembered how Alastor had said that it wasn't bad to interact with others, and this time, she agreed.

Quotes[]
- Yoshida (about loving Yūji): "That kindness, or being cool in the Phys Ed. class, a reason like that didn't matter. When I first met him, I just felt, "I do"."
- Ike (to Yoshida): "When you say it like that, I'm starting to think that he's the one that's right. Or maybe you're both right."
- Shana (thinking): "That's right, now I'm alone."
Shana: "I don't want to be alone..."
Shana (thinking): "Because—— when I'm with Chigusa, I'm happy. Playing with everyone is fun. When Alastor's not here, I'm lonely. When Yūji's not here... I don't like it. If he's not here... I really don't like it." - Alastor (Shana's recollection): "Problems would increase if you did interact... but, it isn't bad is it?""
Shana (thinking): "Yeah."
