Summary[]

Satō's frustration at not being able to find Margery.
Satō and Tanaka were running down the street and finally stopped, exhausted. They couldn't find where Margery was fighting because of the Fūzetsu, which Margery had explained would sever the inside area from the outside world, and people on the outside wouldn't recognize that the sealed area existed. Tanaka thought that Margery might have already left after defeating the Denizen. Satō pledged to chase after Margery, and was supported by Tanaka. Suddenly, the people around them started screaming and holding their ears, leaving them confused. Satō saw flame sparks in the air, which were the same color as Margery's flames, coming from the station. The two headed there.
The roar of the wolf caused Yūji to cover his ears. Lamies stated that the heavily wounded Margery had lost control and that her Fūzetsu was becoming unstable. He explained that if the Fūzetsu was dissolved, the cause and effect of the area would connect to the outside, leaving the damage unable to be restored, and everyone in the vicinity of the wolf's flames would die. Alastor asked Lamies why the Fūzetsu was collapsing so fast. Lamies assumed the Fūzetsu's collapse and the wolf's rampage were connected, and that the wolf's power would cause its hatred and shrieks to flow outside the Fūzetsu, causing panic. Shana resolved to beat down the wolf the same way she had done to Margery, because it was her duty as a Flame Haze. Yūji offered to go with her, and she accepted. Shana needed him to create a small barrier when the timing was right. Yūji asked Shana if he could cling to her, but she pulled him in so that his head was at her chest. Embarrassed, she tried to push his head down. Yūji pointed out that she hadn't said anything the last time he had grabbed her, which angered Shana. It required Alastor to calm Shana down, with Lamies chuckling at them.
Shana took off with Yūji, and they headed for the wolf. The wolf fired a vast number of fireballs at them, but Shana told Yūji to not use the barrier and dodged them. However, the fireballs turned and followed them. Shana flew up the Atrium, and when they were surrounded by fireballs, she got Yūji to use the barrier. Shana used the force of the explosion to ascend, but the wolf was waiting for them. Shana got Yūji to undo the barrier and darted away from the wolf's fangs. Again feeling that she could do anything, Shana turned around and rushed at the wolf. Yūji activated the barrier as they plunged into the body of the wolf. Inside the wolf, they saw a naked and unconscious Margery floating inside, holding the Grimoire. Shana readied her blade.
From outside, Lamies watched as the wolf dissipated.

Trivia[]

Omake page after the chapter.
- At the end of this chapter, there is an omake page, the ninth of fifteen featuring Shana-tan and Nina.
- Yūji remembered how Shana had said she couldn't swing her sword while holding him, in chapter 37. He mentioned how his head had rested on her chest, and Shana also again felt that she could do anything, both events from the same chapter.
