Shana II (シャナ II ) is the ninth chapter of the Shakugan no Shana manga series.
Shana and Yūji managed to deal with the Phys Ed. teacher.
Summary[]
As the students ran, the Phys Ed. teacher planned to make Hirai give up defying the teachers by making her run endlessly, and her results this April didn't show her to be an exceptional athlete. However, after 35 minutes of running and as the rest of the class tired, Shana was still running easily. Yoshida collapsed from fatigue, and was tended to by Harumi Fujita. The rest of the class stopped running and gathered around her, except for Shana, who kept running. The teacher told Yoshida to keep running. Fujita told him that Yoshida was anemic and should rest, but the teacher, irritated by Shana, pushed Fujita away and grabbed Yoshida. Suddenly, he was kicked from behind by Shana. Yūji caught Yoshida as she fell. Shana told the teacher to explain the point of his lesson. The teacher threatened to expel her for kicking him. Yūji perceived that the angered Shana was going to punch the teacher, and told her to kick him instead. She kicked him hard and sent him flying, and he landed on the running track.
Yūji left Yoshida with Fujita. He shouted at the teacher to not run onto the track all of a sudden, creating a ruse where the teacher had run onto the track and got hit by Shana. First Ike, then Satō and Tanaka, and finally Ogata and the rest of the class were in on the ruse. Yūji asked Shana to threaten the teacher, and Alastor suggested the way they usually threaten for money. Shana stomped the ground in front of the teacher's face with enough force to make a deep intent. After Yūji's suggestion, the teacher dismissed the class and ran away. The class surrounded Yūji and Shana to cheer for them and thank them. Tanaka took Yoshida to the nurse's office.
Back in the classroom during lunch time, Yūji found Shana sporting twin-tails, which one of the girls had done to her in the changing room. Yūji thought about how the class had gotten more friendly with her now. Shana told Yūji that she wouldn't stay at the school until evening as she had done yesterday, as she wanted to go to a more advantageous place. Yūji thanked her, as she had decided on a place with no other people around, in case he did something funny. Shana said that they could plan better if they knew what the Treasure Tool inside him was. Alastor explained that they could only confirm what it was by extinguishing Yūji, but they didn't know what would happen if they opened a Mystes up, which Shana could vouch for from a previous experience. That was the only reason Yūji was safe from Shana. Shana found that Yūji complained less now, but he confessed that he was still scared of extinguishing. He was happy that Shana and Alastor were there for him, and felt supported by them. Shana found that strange as she had brought Yūji's end upon him, but he stated that she only told him the truth and didn't actually kill him. They had gotten into an argument over whether that was the same thing when Yoshida approached them.
