The Rainy Night II (雨の夜 II Ame no Yoru II ) is the seventh chapter of the Shakugan no Shana manga series.
Yūji invited Shana inside, but hadn't expected her to sleep in the same room as him.
Summary[]

Yūji handing Shana the coffee.
Yūji said that he couldn't feel calm with Shana up on the roof. Shana asked how he knew she and Alastor were there. Yūji said he had felt something like a small Fūzetsu. Alastor agreed that Yūji would start to feel something from being near the previous battles. Yūji asked Shana whether she should be at Hirai's house, but she said it didn't matter because Hirai's family were all Torches. Shana told Yūji to go away because they were busy, but she was just sitting on the roof, and Yūji laughed when even Alastor couldn't defend her claim. As Yūji joined her on the roof, Shana told him that they were guarding him from enemies. Yūji poured her some coffee and wanted to ask her something. Shana said that in exchange for the drink, he could ask. He asked if they would remember him after he disappears, like how he remembered Hirai. Alastor confirmed that they would because they were separated from the flow of this world. Though Shana said that he would eventually be forgotten like any other memory, Yūji was still glad that he would be remembered.

Shana after sipping the coffee.
Shana sipped the coffee but it was far too bitter for her. She had never tasted anything so bitter, even though Yūji had already put two sugar sticks in it. She took the rest of the sugar he had on him. Yūji asked whether she would stay on the roof all night, and Shana affirmed that she was used to sleeping while sitting and could be woken by Alastor when trouble occurs. Yūji asked her to come inside the house. Shana and Alastor discussed their situation of protecting something, not abiding by Yūji's request to be treated as a person. Shana agreed to enter, but would beat Yūji up if he tried anything funny. Yūji joked that he wasn't interested in her, causing Shana to throw the coffee cup at him.

Yūji seeing Shana changing.
In the house, Shana was planning to sleep in Yūji's room with him. Though he objected, Alastor made him agree. Shana put Alastor's pendant underneath her pillow, as she was about to get changed, and Alastor warned Yūji to hide. Shana said she would cut him up if he peeked at her. Yūji struggled to get in the closet, and when rushed by Shana, he made a remark about her lack of figure, only to get hit by his thrown alarm clock. He asked whether she had any pajamas. Shana said that she only had a change of underwear and only changes when she feels like it because Alastor could purify her body of dirt. Yūji mentioned that under his bed drawer, there was a jersey she could wear. Yūji began to imagine Shana changing from the sounds he heard. A book dropped on his foot and he fell back through the closet door and saw Shana changing. He tried to explain his case but Shana drew her sword. Yūji screamed in pain as he was hit.

Shana under the covers.
In the morning, Yūji's alarm goes off and he awoke. The Nietono no Shana was stabbed into the ground between himself and Shana. He murmured that she wouldn't heal him next time, to which Alastor agreed. Yūji noticed the spot on his head where she had hit him last night didn't hurt, and wondered if she had gone easy on him. He woke Shana so that they could get ready for school. When she saw Yūji, Shana hurried back into the covers, startled. She confided with Alastor about what had happened to Yūji. Yūji was confused but left to get ready for school and told her to leave without anyone finding her. Alastor thought it was the power of the Treasure Tool inside of Yūji. Even though it was hard to believe, it was the Reiji Maigo.
