Farewell My Dear Followers (さらば愛しき子分ども Saraba Itoshiki Kobundomo?) is the fourth track and second audio drama of the Shakugan no Shana II Splendide Shana Vol. II album.

After overhearing Satō and Tanaka on the phone, Margery and Marchosias believed the boys were going to leave them.

Summary[]

At his house, Satō rang someone and pleaded with them to do something for him, saying he was tired of dealing with a certain person. Tanaka took over and protested that they were at their limits after something was done to them. When Margery came up to them, the two immediately hung up the phone. Though Margery was suspicious, the two told her nothing and fled after feigning that they had urgent business. Margery thought the boys had gotten cheeky and wanted to make them confess later, but Marchosias was concerned about the phone call. He believed the boys' complaints were about Margery and thought they were fed up with her. Marchosias seemed to understand why the boys would now feel this way, mentioning the evening three nights ago, of which Margery had no recollection thanks to getting drunk on grain whiskey. Though Margery felt Satō and Tanaka would be used to her drunk antics by now, Marchosias told her that she had been exceptionally bad.

Three nights ago, Margery was dead drunk and Satō and Tanaka were taking care of her. Margery had demanded that they draw whiskers on her face with a permanent marker. Marchosias had suggested that they go through with it and Margery threatened to use an acceleration Unrestricted Spell to make them hurry up. Satō still couldn't do it, leaving Tanaka to draw the whiskers.

After that, Margery had chased Satō and Tanaka around the mansion for nearly an hour, pretending to be Toga and a fox, and Marchosias felt sorry for them. Margery thought Marchosias was fibbing, but he revealed that a photo of her that night was in a drawer together with the permanent marker. Margery was horrified by the photo and claimed it was a photographic illusion. Marchosias continued reflecting on that night, stating that after the chasing was psychological torture.

That night, a drunk Margery wanted to enrich Satō and Tanaka with some jokes. The two were forced to listen to her bad puns continuously for nearly an hour. Margery thought this was impossible, but there was more evidence in the form of a voice recorder in the same drawer. Margery screamed and claimed the recording was an auditory hallucination. Marchosias alluded that there was still more, but Margery didn't want to hear it.

Margery had read out a poem in which she was a flower of love telling the person who came to pluck her to take her far away. Margery was again horrified and believed she would never read poetry like that, pleading for Marchosias to have been joking. However, she had written the poem inside his Divine Vessel Grimoire. Margery finally understood how bad her drunken behavior could get and Marchosias reiterated that Satō and Tanaka were tired of her. Margery also noticed that the boys' change in behavior of calling someone and going out without telling her where began in the last 2-3 days. Marchosias thought they were making preparations to leave Margery and that their earlier phone call was to "Manipulator of Objects", asking if they could become her pupils. She knew of Margery's drunken behavior and would accept the boys' complaints. On top of that, Wilhelmina wore a maid uniform and no man could resist their charms. Marchosias role-played having a good time with a maid but Margery pointed out that Wilhelmina wasn't like that at all. Margery shifted blame for Satō and Tanaka's leaving onto Marchosias, saying he could have used the Purifying Flame to make her sober and that his frivolous speech might be the real reason the boys were leaving. She suggested he learn from "Crown-and-Sash of Fantasies" and be quiet, to which he suggested she talk like Wilhelmina. Margery proceeded to beat Marchosias while using Wilhelmina's speech pattern while Marchosias struggled to come up with relevant words and Yojijukugo in order to talk like Tiamat in response. The two then childishly bickered while talking like Wilhelmina.

Later, with both of them exhausted, Margery suggested they stop, as their quarreling wouldn't change Satō and Tanaka's minds. Marchosias thought that followers should decide who their boss would be and felt that Wilhelmina would take care of the boys and accept them. Margery reflected that she wouldn't be able to stay at Satō's house any longer and set out for her last job as boss.

Margery brought Wilhelmina to a remote place and wanted to talk about "the kids", apologizing for forcing them on her. Wilhelmina and Tiamat had no idea what she was talking about, but Margery took their ignorance as feigned in order to be kind to her. Marchosias didn't mind them pretending to be ignorant as long as they listened to what Margery had to say, and Wilhelmina said she would. Margery never thought this would happen and felt that alcohol was frightening and capable of taking away everything, a statement which bewildered Wilhelmina. Margery gave advice about "the kids". They were simple to the point of being idiots, but had good points too. They act swiftly for the sake of others, try to do more than they are capable of, and are ridiculously straightforward, and thus Wilhelmina had to train them adequately and protect them. Wilhelmina still had no clue what Margery was talking about but promised to do as she said. Feeling better, Margery said farewell to Wilhelmina and Marchosias was getting teary about "the kids" as the two flew away. Wilhelmina thought she had been entrusted with a puppy or something.

After one last drink, Margery would leave the bar of Satō's house forever. Marchosias felt that Misaki City had been a comfortable city to live, but the two would simply return to wandering. Satō and Tanaka suddenly burst into the bar triumphantly, saying that the other party had finally accepted and that they had had a difficult time. Margery tearfully said she was grateful to the boys and Marchosias started weeping. The boys were more concerned with what they had acquired; a bottle of sake called Yashichirō. It was a legendary local sake which Margery had pointed out in a catalog while drunk, praising it but asking it for more screen-time. Satō and Tanaka had found two people who had a bottle of Yashichirō, with one of them being extremely stubborn and refusing to sell to minors even though they had explained it wasn't for them. Margery realized that this person was the one Satō had said over the phone that he was tired of dealing with. Tanaka explained that they had called the second person with a bottle of Yashichirō that morning and were at their limit so accepted that person's higher price, which provided context for what he had said during the phone call. After some disagreement, the second person sold the sake to them. Satō and Tanaka had refrained from speaking of their plans to Margery and Marchosias until they had obtained the sake. Margery asked about Wilhelmina, which left the boys perplexed. She got angry at Marchosias for causing the misunderstanding and he pretended that he had been in the know. Wilhelmina entered the bar, now understanding everything. Seeing as the boys went through much hardship for a single bottle of sake, Wilhelmina agreed with Margery's earlier assessment of them and repeated Margery's statements out loud. Wilhelmina assured Margery that she only came to see how things were resolved and would keep Margery's conversation with her a secret. Marchosias teased Margery and was hit. The boys were eager for Margery to drink the sake. She liked it and asked for another glass as well as one for Wilhelmina. Margery vowed to drink until she lost her memories and Marchosias would accompany her.

Dead drunk again, Margery swung Marchosias around her head while singing. Wilhelmina remarked that this is how Margery should be. Satō asked Wilhelmina if he and Tanaka could quit being with Margery and become her pupils, with Wilhelmina and Tiamat swiftly rejecting the idea. The boys were somewhat dejected by the expected answer.
