Shakugan no Shana Final Episode 15

"Rout in the Rain" (雨中の敗走 Uchū no Haisō^?) is the fifteenth episode of the anime series Shakugan no Shana Final.

Summary[]

Demoralized after Snake of the Festival's proclamation of the Grand Order the Flame Haze are disorganized, and on the run. During this time of chaos CenterHill has a proposal for the desperate retreat.

Meanwhile, Haborym is coordinating the Denizen forces of Bal Masqué in the pursuit of the Flame Haze, and Heaven's-Road Palace. However, CenterHill's powers soon throw a wrench in Haborym's ability to direct his troops from behind the lines.

Not a moment too soon, Samuel Demantius erects a tower to act as a beacon for the retreating Flame Haze forces, and to provide an obvious source of aggravation for the Denizens to take advantage of the communication disruption. Just as Haborym attempts to salvage the situation, Wilhelmina and Shana appear to obstruct him, however Sydonay appears to confront the duo while directing Haborym to go lead the Denizen ranks.

Elsewhere, Chiara Toscana is with Seere Habichtsburg above great plains overlooked by a mountain range, they are in a hurry to rescue their comrades, and make haste towards the zone of conflict.

Just as the situation seems dire, CenterHill joins the battle between Shana, and Wilhelmina against Sydonay. During the battle, Sydonay makes several observations that hint at the location of the Heaven's-Road Palace on the battle field, however it turns out to be a trap set by the Flame Haze. Shintetsu Nyoi hits a barrier, instead of Heaven's-Road Palace as expected, and from the barrier emerges the genius spell caster Margery Daw who proceeds to trap Sydonay in the barrier.

But Sydonay isn't one to be held down by paltry tricks such as this, and soon breaks out of the barrier, however Chiara and Seere arrive to rescue the Flame Haze, leaving just CenterHill behind as the necessary sacrifice to cover their retreat. Also, having finished his job acting as a decoy, Samuel Demantius comes to the end of his journey as a Flame Haze in the rain, as an army of Denizens are about to overcome him.

Afterwards, while overseeing the aftermath, Yūji Sakai determines things couldn't have happened any differently, not to mention Bal Masqué does not have time to start regretting the things it has let slip through its fingers when they are so close to the end of their ambition. However, before they can depart for their objective they must first wait for the true body of Snake of the Festival to finish stabilizing.

In the end, it turns out the Flame Haze are just under their feet, having retreated underground with the Heaven's-Road Palace, since an expedient retreat would be impossible with so many wounded.
