"Captured Flame Haze" (囚われのフレイムヘイズ Toraware no Fureimu Heizu ) is the fifth episode of the anime series Shakugan no Shana Final. Shana is imprisoned in Seireiden, while there are signs of a war that is about to start.
Summary[]
Shana wakes up in the giant bed within the giant room that has been assigned to her in the Seireiden. A Rinne maid assigned to tend to her does so and leaves, leaving Shana to her thoughts on the balcony. Shana has Tartaros around her arm that is sealing her Flame Haze abilities. Shana's sword, Nietono no Shana and Alastor (who wants to find Yūji's Intentions) has been taken from her. Shana recalls a time when she got lost in a storage area on Tendoukyuu and rescued by the skeleton Shiro (Merihim). She also recalls spending time with Sophie after leaving Wilhelmina and the advice Sophie gave Shana on her final night there.
When Yūji (because he does not attend the war council) comes into the room where Shana is in to pay her a visit, she learns that Alastor has joined Yūji. When Yūji is paying Shana a visit, Bal Masqué held a massive war council, led by Bel-Peol and Sydonay without Yūji's presence. However, he is surprised by Shana's reaction to him in that she seems afraid and doesn't want him to touch her. Alastor hangs around Yūji's neck and Shana quickly realizes that Alastor volunteered to be with Yūji because he had no other choice. Yūji still tries to approach Shana, but she continues to back away, eventually backing into the bed and falling back on it. Yūji is upset by Shana's unexpected reactions and thinks wonders if this is because she was so easily defeated. When he continues to attempt to talk to her, she yells at him, causing Yūji to back off and seemingly begin to understand her true concern when Lamies reaches Shana's room.
Meanwhile, in our world, Margery is in a coma and Tanaka can't wake her up, unless Satō comes back. Outlaw doesn't give any information or help to neither Eita about Keisaku or Wilhelmina about Shana. Tanaka desperately attempts to contact Satou with no success. Margery Daw is still sleeping and unresponsive after her encounter with Yūji and after a talk with Marchosias, Tanaka wants Satou to come back, thinking it will help Margery somehow. Shana seems to be erased from everyone's memories including Chigusa and Wilhelmina refuses to help the Outlaw in the war until she finds Shana and that's why they won't help her either. The other Trinity of Bal Masqué seem to have a secret plan.

TV and Blu-ray differences[]
- In the credits of the TV version, the voice actress for Wilhelmina was incorrectly shown as Ayako Kawasumi, who does the voice of Yoshida, instead of Shizuka Itō, who actually performed the role. This was fixed in the Blu-ray version.
