During the Usual After-school Time... (いつもの放課後に…… Itsumo no Hōkago ni... ) is the second track and first audio drama of the Shakugan no Shana Assorted Shana Vol. II soundtrack.
Ogata was upset from an encounter with Tanaka when she was asked for advice by an older student in the volleyball club.
Summary[]
After performing a spike during a volleyball club session, Ogata was complimented by an older student for being a regular on the team despite being a first-year. The student thought that maybe something good happened to Ogata, as she seemed to be more eager than usual, but Ogata remarked that nothing good ever happened for her.
Earlier that day after school, Ogata had been walking with Ike and Yoshida, members of the "going-home club". Ike joked that he and Yoshida were the head and vice-head of the club and their activities consisted of reflecting over that school day and preparing for the next. Ogata told the two that she would go to her volleyball club, which would soon have tournament preliminaries. The two would root for Ogata but declined her invitation to join the club; Yoshida because she didn't have good reflexes, and Ike because he was somehow busy with the "going-home club". The group spotted Satō and Tanaka and were surprised that the two were still on school grounds, as sometimes they don't even come to class. Ogata went off to tease the two.
Satō claimed he had something to do and told Tanaka he couldn't go to the Kotoko concert with him that evening, even though he had gone through trouble to get the two tickets in the first place. Satō suggested that Tanaka take "someone" with the other ticket, as they were a fan of Kotoko, but Tanaka feigned not knowing who. Ogata suddenly came up to the two, startling them. Satō gave Tanaka the tickets and quickly left. Tanaka explained the tickets and invited Ogata to come with him, and embarrassed, he claimed that he was only doing so because Satō couldn't come and the ticket would be wasted. When Ogata thanked him, Tanaka lied that he had asked many people and had been refused until finally asking her. Upset, Ogata refused the offer, saying she had volleyball practice. Tanaka tried to appeal to Ogata by mentioning Kotoko, which further upset her because he hadn't come to her first despite knowing she would want to come. Ogata ran off.
Ogata had spaced out thinking about the encounter with Tanaka during the conversation with the older student. The student wanted to ask Ogata for advice about something after club practice.
The student and Ogata put away the club's equipment. As they were walking, the student admired a couple walking together in the school grounds, who Ogata recognized were Yūji and Shana. Ogata went up to them and asked what they had been doing. Shana explained that they had been studying, even though exams were not for some time, because Yūji's grades were low and she had been asked by Chigusa to tutor him. Shana dragged Yūji away by the ear, saying they needed to review, prepare for tomorrow's lessons, and have night training. The older student said she was jealous of how intimate Yūji and Shana were. The student revealed to Ogata that she liked Tanaka and wanted to ask Ogata whether he had a girlfriend or liked anyone. She explained that she had once been in town and had seen Tanaka get in a fight with people bigger than him. She knew that Tanaka and Satō had gotten into fights a lot since middle school, but saw that there was a reason for this one. After Tanaka had repelled the people, a crying girl had gone up to him, but he had left without looking at her. The girl was the older student's classmate and Tanaka had saved her from the people, who had been trying to mess with her. The older student had later gone with the girl to thank Tanaka, who had accepted the girl's thanks in an unfriendly manner. The student was able to feel Tanaka's kindness and warmth from this encounter and fell in love with him. Ogata claimed that the student was being tricked and Tanaka wasn't actually nice, going on a rant about his negative traits, such as being tactless and unsociable, and above all, not knowing how to invite others. From Ogata's outburst, the student realized that she loved Tanaka as well. Tanaka came up to them, surprising them, and claimed that he had forgotten something at school. Ogata told him to take the older student with him to the concert and ran off. Tanaka remembered the student as the one who had come to his class to thank him with the other girl. The student interrupted Tanaka when he tried to talk about the concert and asked if he was dating anyone, to which he awkwardly said he wasn't. The student then told Tanaka something.
Ogata was in the school gymnasium and voiced that she should have gone to the concert. Tanaka came in and pointed out that she was the one who turned him down. The concert had started a while ago, and the older student had gone home after asking him questions. Ogata began to tease Tanaka because he had gone red, and though he had claimed to have forgotten something, he was empty-handed. The two decided to go eat something together on the way home. Tanaka said that Ogata would pay for it and teased her when she said "normally" it would be the opposite. When Ogata asked about it, Tanaka awkwardly claimed to have forgotten what the older student had asked him and what he had said back. Ogata teased that Tanaka would have to pay for their food and said she would pay if Tanaka remembered the conversation with the older student. As they left, Ogata nagged Tanaka to tell her about the conversation and Tanaka decided that he would pay.

Quotes[]
- Satō (to Tanaka): "Anyway, you should invite "someone" with my ticket. You know, "someone"."
- Ogata: "Thank you."
Tanaka: "Uh... ah..., no, why are you thanking me? It's not like that. The ticket would be wasted, so I invited some other people, but they all didn't want to come. And that's why I invited you, Oga-chan. This is good, now the ticket won't be wasted! Ha, ahahaha!" - Ogata's senpai (to Ogata): "But that was enough to convey Tanaka-kun's kindness. I realized that though Tanaka-kun is awkward, he's an extremely warm person. After that, I kept thinking about Tanaka-kun. Is that strange?"
- Ogata (to the senpai): "I, I think you're being deceived, senpai. There's no way he can be that kind! You should definitely give up on an insensitive guy like him! He's unsociable, he's a messy eater, his uniform is dirty, you don't know where his thin eyes are looking, he's needlessly big, his voice is loud, his uwabaki are filthy, he walks on his heels, and also... he doesn't know how to invite people."
- Ogata: "You're treating now, Tanaka!"
Tanaka: "Why!?"
Ogata: "I can treat if you remember."
Tanaka: "That's unfair, Oga-chan!"
Ogata: "I wonder which of us is really the unfair one!"
