Rainbow's Heaven Sword (虹天剣 Kōtenken ) is Merihim's signature Unrestricted Spell. This spell is counted as one of the greatest offensive powers of all time.
Merihim is able to use the spell to defeat Orgon and his army in one strike.
Background[]
It fires a destructive ray of rainbow from his weapon. However, he also can fire it without his sabre.
While charging the spell, a halo-like rainbow light glows on Merihim's back, resembling wings. In the anime, seven wings of light radiate from behind his back.
During the Great War, Merihim possessed the mirror-shaped Rinne army called Aeria, which acted as the reflector for his fired Rainbow's Heaven Sword to his enemies when they had evaded the first attack but would instead fall under his "next" attack or the reflected Rainbow's Heaven Sword. It is unknown how many Aeria he had left after his fight with Mathilde Saint-Omer, but he stopped using or creating the new ones.
On his mission to train and test the successor of the new "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter", Merihim, as a skeleton known as Shiro, inadvertently fired Rainbow's Heaven Sword; his trauma of being drenched with Mathilde's blood was evoked by a tomato paste prank done by his pupil. In his Power of Existence reservation state, he still caused heavy damages to Tendōkyū and Crypta.
After his final duty to test the newly contracted Flame Haze had come, Merihim restored his appearance with his remaining power and used Rainbow's Heaven Sword as a final test for the girl.
Trivia[]
- Rainbow's Heaven Sword has been the cause of Tendōkyū's fall twice; both happened with the spell penetrating Crypta. The second time indirectly results in Tendōkyū's destruction from the Gordian Knot brought by Vine.
