The Nachtigall Struggle (小夜啼鳥 (ナハティガル) 』争奪戦 "Nahatigaru" Sōdatsusen?), also known as the Treasure Tool Struggle (宝具争奪戦 Hōgu Sōdatsusen?),[† 1] was a three-way battle for possession of the Treasure Tool Nachtigall and the Crimson Denizen who was housed inside, between the Flame Haze Army, Töten Glocke, and the Crimson Lord who held it.

Chronology[]

During the battle, Asiz made a declaration about the meaning and significance of the Grand Scheme. The Flame Haze heavily opposed the Grand Scheme and the Crimson Lords inside them were filled with rage, greatly surprising Asiz and the Nine Eternal Divine Scales.[4] However, Crimson Denizens, including unaffiliated ones, acclaimed of it and joined Töten Glocke's ranks.[2]

Though Jarri, Molech, Chernobog, and the deceased Huwawa were absent from the battle, it was Töten Glocke's largest military campaign since its inception.[1]

Töten Glocke was again opposed by the Flame Haze, who had now gathered into an army. Though Merihim's Aeria were annihilated by Mathilde Saint-Omer, Illuyanka was heavily injured by Wilhelmina Carmel, and another of the Nine Eternal Divine Scales, Ninurta, had fallen in battle, Töten Glocke was again victorious and retreated with Nachtigall. Ninurta had stayed behind and fought Mathilde to allow Töten Glocke to retreat.[5] Besides Töten Glocke succeeding in their objective, the Flame Haze Army's large casualties meant that they had lost the battle.[3]

Aftermath[]

Asiz and Töten Glocke returned to Brocken Fortress. The Nachtigall was pivotal to Asiz's Grand Scheme and he began pouring his vast Power of Existence into her so that she could activate the extremely complex Unrestricted Spell Insignias of "Disintegration" and "Fixation" that he needed. The Flame Haze Army gathered more forces and converged near Brocken Fortress five days later for a final confrontation with Töten Glocke in order to prevent the Grand Scheme.
