- Lug is an alternate spelling for Lugh, an Irish god and mythological High King of Ireland. He has an epithet "Lámhfhada" which means "long arm" or "long hand" for his skill with long-range weapons like spear and sling. He is said to possessed a sword names "Fragarach" and slingstone names "Tathlum".[1]
- While George, is mentioned in the novel, Lug's name has not been mentioned in any sources up until it is on the list of Flame Haze published in Shakugan no Shana no Subete Kan.
