Summary[]

Chapter 1: The Beloved Child[]

Through the drizzle of a dark night, there was a small bus leisurely moving forward with its body swaying. However, it was not running on the surface of the solid ground, but of the undulating waves of the ocean. In front of the small bus which was actually a Rinne belonging to the smuggler group Hyakki Yakō was its boss, Gyūki. He had possessed the vehicle and erased its presence including everyone inside with his Unrestricted Spell.

Reaching the rendezvous point, he notified the passengers. Wilhelmina Carmel started tidying up the toys, books and bag of snacks that were scattered on the bus floor. Tiamat reprimanded her for spoiling the owner of those things, who should clean them up himself. Wilhelmina still continued her work, saying that today was special, only to get a sigh from her contracted Crimson Lord. However, this did not mean the boy was not able to do that himself, but because he was busy playing Old Maid with Rebecca Reed and Zemyna.

Even in light of the increasingly complex circumstances in this new world, Xanadu, it was still exceptionally rare for Crimson Denizens and Flame Haze to be in such close proximity. But that was due to the one who made the request being the famous "Manipulator of Objects", and their job to transport "just one boy" who was extremely unique and special. This was not an exaggeration, because Xanadu was embroiled in a debate over how to deal with the boy. And the boy himself had not yet expressed how he would engage with this new world. This transport request was to take him to a place where some kind of resolution on these matters might be reached. This was why Hyakki Yakou, with its extensive experience in handling countless passengers with special circumstances, responded with the utmost professionalism. In this case, they simply interacted with them casually.

Para, the driver of this bus, informed the passengers about the destination that came within sight. The passengers came to the front of the bus. In the misty night, a wall of countless lit windows emerged through the drizzle. However, the lower area held no lit windows; the structure resembled an enormous, horizontally stretched building perched atop a hill, or perhaps even floating. The boy then realized that it was not a building, but a giant ship. Para turned the steering wheel, taking the scenic route as a special treat for the boy.

This luxury liner was "Lord of the Seas". It was one of the largest ships in the world, measuring 365 meters in length, 45 meters in width, and boasting a gross tonnage of 220,000 tons. For the past several years, "Lord of the Seas" had served as a special venue used by various factions as a meeting ground. And on this day, it was to be the big stage for unveiling the boy to the world.
