Hien (飛焰, Blazing Flame)[† 1] is an Unrestricted Spell unique to Shana.
After she regained her power as a Flame Haze inside Seireiden, she had come to realize the symbol of "strength" as the "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter" during following the fight with a Crimson Lord Vual. She became able to use this spell along with the others: Shinku, Shinpan and Danzai.
Background[]
Like other Unrestricted Spells she learned, Shana named this Unrestricted Spell based on the image evoked by its appearance.
Unlike Shinku which manifests flames as a power that are "flames as something other than flames," this spell unleashes a projection of flame without a distinct shape. The area of effect and the penetrating power granted by its directional focus far surpass that of normal Endan.[1] This enables Shana to incinerate a wide range of enemies and obstacles all at once. The created wave of flame expands outward in a circle-like pattern; however it does not form a full circle, and leaves the area behind the caster's back untouched.
It can be emitted both from her bare hands and from her sword, Nietono no Shana.
Trivia[]
- When Shana first used Hien in Final Episode 10, the scene following her calling the spell's name showed the Gigantic Arm of Crimson made by Shinku crushing Vual's clones, not a wave of flame she unleashed against Sydonay in Final Episode 15.
