Hardness Conversion (硬度変換 Kōdo Henkan) is the Special Ability of "Transposer of Corpses and Bodies" Ernest Flieder.[1]
Background[]
Flieder has the ability to freely control the hardness of his body and objects on his person. Though originally a power to strengthen himself, Flieder is able to apply it to move underground as if he were swimming, create elaborate clay dolls in his likeness, and change those clay dolls into traps that explode and scatter flames and iron rivets.[1] He can also control the hardness of each clay doll.[2]
Flieder's specialty is to toy with enemies by hiding underground and confusing them with the dolls. This ability and strategy suits his personality of prioritizing survival. He was able to form a duo with Rebecca Reed because this ability allowed him to resist her explosions.[1]

Flieder used his Hardness Conversion against Ribesal during the Second Great War, but it was ineffectual.
