"Special" (すぺしゃる, Supesharu) is the second special episode of Friagne and Marianne no Naze Nani Shana!. It was released on DVD Magazine 2 (DVDまがじん2), a bonus DVD bundled with the fifth Shakugan no Shana DVD volume when pre-ordered.

Friagne was eager to meet up with Marianne again and requested that she wear a yukata for him. He had a yukata with him and had wanted Marianne to wear it once his plan was complete and she had become an eternal existence, though the plan had since failed thanks to "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyes". Marianne liked the yukata and wanted to try it on, seeing as she had always worn the same set of clothes in the main anime series. Friagne said that she looked cute in it. He had also made other clothes for Marianne to try, such as the uniform of the school the Mystes attended along with a bag, and a swimsuit since she had once said she wanted to go to the pool. He had made these clothes for her because it was one of the only ways he could express his love for her. There was one set of clothes in particular that Friagne thought would really suit Marianne, a pinafore, and he was ecstatic to see her wear it. Friagne was excited to hear Marianne call him "Master" while wearing it, leading her to ask if he had a maid fetish. He tried to deny it, but could not.

Marianne then had a request for Friagne, who vowed to grant any wish she had. She wanted him to tell her about the "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter" with a nazokake, a type of riddle in which a riddle is posed by one person and the other person answers with something seemingly unrelated before having to explain their reasoning. Marianne posed the riddle "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyes" and Friagne answered with "Firefighters of Edo", as they both prevent calamity by scattering sparks. Marianne was impressed and next posed the riddle of "Yūji Sakai", which was answered with "Analog Audio", as they are both powered by a small light inside them. Next was "Chanter of Elegies", which was answered with "Energetic Punk Rock Guy" because their clothes are both "spikeeyyy" (tōga-ru, from 尖る (togaru)). Marianne remarked that Friagne could do anything and wanted to continue with Bal Masqué, but he quickly interrupted her and mentioned that there weren't any proper questions this episode. Marianne said it was fine because a proper episode explaining terminology was on the main DVD. She tried to make Friagne do another nazokake but he quickly brought the episode to an end, wondering where she got her ideas from.
