"Fountain of Existence and Manifestation Edition" (存在の泉と顕現編 Sonzai no Izumi to Kengen-hen ) is the eighth episode of Friagne and Marianne no Naze Nani Shana!. It was released on the eighth and final Shakugan no Shana DVD volume.
Summary[]
Marianne and Friagne were sad due to this being the last episode of the series, with Friagne vowing to answer any question. Marianne wondered whether there was any need for Friagne to prepare City Devourer if he had the Fountain of Existence that Bal Masqué had made. Friagne stated that if he had endlessly flowing power, he may have been able to fulfill his wish, but admitted that he wouldn't have been able to create the fountain. The Whole Sacred Chapel was a grand plan which combined the collective power of Bal Masqué. It required the treasured Reiji Maigo as its core, but it also needed "Master Throne" Hecate and her unique power to fuse with the Vessels of others, "Seeking Researcher" Dantalion's device to extract Power of Existence, and the Bal Masqué stronghold Seireiden to protect those things in order for it to be complete. Friagne lamented that he could have used the fountain if he had known about it, but knew there was no use saying that now.
Marianne changed the subject, saying she was surprised by the Manifestation of the "Flame of Heaven" and remarking that Crimson Lords have tremendous power. Friagne explained that "Flame of Heaven" was special among Lords, being an actual God who governs judgment and retribution in the Crimson Realm. However, Friagne claimed that Denizens fear the God's little contractor more. Friagne explained that when "Flame of Heaven" had previously manifested, his contractor, the "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter", had been unable to withstand it and died. That was why the little one was now the "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter". However, she was able to survive the "Flame of Heaven" manifesting. Friagne stated that this had to mean that her Vessel as a Flame Haze was greater than her predecessor's. The previous "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyes" was a female knight renowned as being the strongest in the battlegrounds of Middle Age Europe, and Friagne would never want to fight her. Where even she could not withstand the Demon God's Manifestation, the little one did. Friagne asked Marianne what the Mystes boy called the current "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyes", and she told him her name was "Shana". He wondered whether they would start calling "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyes" "Shana" as well.
Marianne informed Friagne that they were nearly out of time and needed to say goodbye to the audience, which Friagne was saddened by. Marianne thanked the audience for watching the Naze Nani Shana! series, and wanted to meet again if there was another opportunity. Friagne said he had fun and thanked the audience as well.
