- Not to be confused with Vessel.
Divine Vessels (神器 Jingi, lit. "God's Vessel" or "Sacred Treasures") are special items used by Flame Haze's contracted Crimson Lords to express their will and talk to other people while their bodies reside within contractors' body. These items are entirely different from Treasure Tools as they are unique to a certain Crimson Lord and can only be possessed by Flame Haze.
Background[]
Divine Vessels are the embodiment of the completion of the ritual, aka the contract between a Crimson Lord and their human contractor.[1] The function of each Divine Vessels depends on the contractor's imagination and their contracted Crimson Lord's skill. There are likely two types of Divine Vessels: those that are used as decorations and those that are used as weapons.
In the very beginning, however, Divine Vessels did not exist. Both Flame Haze and Crimson Lords completely become one with each others. Later, Divine Tools are naturally created as it was more beneficial to separate their personalities, and for both their mental states. Crimson Lords still can telepathically converse with their contractors without speaking.[1]
If the Divine Vessel is damaged or destroyed, it can be repaired or recreated since the Crimson Lord resides in the contractor's body, not the Divine Vessel itself.
The other unique ability of Divine Vessels is that they can teleport themselves back to wherever their contractors are; this is possible if either one wishes for it.[2]
Trivia[]
- The name of the Divine Vessel usually corresponds to the legend of the contracted Crimson Lord's earth name, but sometimes it relates to the contractor's place of origin before making a contract.
- Unlike Flame Haze's titles, a contracted Crimson Lord's Divine Vessel name seems to not have to stay the same for everyone they make contracts with. Examples are Takemikazuchi and Valac, whose names of their Divine Vessels relate to their latest contractors' language or origins.
- In Japanese, almost every Divine Vessel's names are written inside double quotation marks (“...”), e.g., “コキュートス” and “グリモア”.
- However, Chinese Flame Haze under Guilunhui's rules have their Divine Vessel's names written inside white corner brackets (『...』) instead, e.g., 『昆吾』 and 『羽淵』. This is probably due to their organization's rule of having Divine Vessels in weapon forms, and these Divine Vessels are viewed as merely weapons. Though this does not applies to other weapon-shaped Divine Vessels possessed by Flame Haze in other parts of the world.
- Another exception is Gizo's Divine Vessel, Länge and Saite, which are also written inside white corner brackets.
